After The Morning

Artist/Band: Mark Nelson

In the early 1970's Mark Nelson was one of a handful of free spirited musicians who created a whole new vocabulary for the Appalachian dulcimer. His driving flatpick style brought to the instrument a force and passion seldom heard before - or since.

Produced by legendary Irish fiddler Kevin Burke, "After the Morning" moved the dulcimer to new levels of sophistication. Haunting Irish airs, rousing jigs and reels, a lovely Scottish waltz and old-time Appalachian fiddle tunes take on new meaning in this great recording. Features Mark's ground-breaking flat-pick dulcimer style, Irish fiddler Kevin Burke and some of the Northwest's premiere Celtic musicians.

Originally released in 1983, it became a much sought after collectable. This new release was created from the original masters.

"The beautiful sleeve art displays visually what is waiting for us aurally inside... to transport us across oceans and eons of time. The full range of the dulcimer is displayed... driving energetic and almost hypnotic, or delicate and transparent." - Come For To Sing
