While John travels to his family home in Portugal, Alexandria remains in their hometown of Hartford, CT contemplating their relationship. This Black & White film explores the contradictions and complications of life among tight-knit Portuguese-American families. It is "a dreamlike Moebius narrative shifting back and forth between the New and Old World" (John Boonstra, Hartford Advocate). Non-actors take on the rolls of Portuguese immigrants dealing with American life, while the Portuguese landscape becomes the lead character as John's story is told from the camera's perspective.
