Melvin Morse - Is the Aperture the Near-Death Tunnel? (IRVA 2009)
Always lively and engaging, noted pediatrician and children's near-death researcher Dr. Melvin Morse, M.D. lays out for us amazing experiences and insights he has gleaned by comparing and contrasting the principles of remote viewing with the realities of the near-death experience. He explains why the more we learn about brain science and how it relates to both remote viewing and NDEs, the more seeming contradictions between these experiences and science evaporate. Dr. Morse describes how the top-down model of causation shows that mind and consciousness come first, and provide the organizing principles that link RV and NDEs. He explains the role human perception plays, the important task the brain's right temporal lobe fulfills, and intersperses profound ideas with intriguing anecdotes and fascinating clips from interviews of actual near-death experiencers. In one intriguing segment, Morse shows the results of a remote viewing experiment done to examine one actual near-death case, with surprising results.
Dr. Morse graduated with academic honors from George Washington University School of Medicine. He interned at the University of California at San Francisco, completed a residency in pediatrics at Seattle Children's Hospital and became a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at University of Washington.
Dr. Morse has researched near death experiences in children and adults for 20 years and has been featured in documentaries in Japan, Australia, France, Canada, England, and the United States. He has appeared on numerous television and radio shows, including 20/20, The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Turning Point, The Tom Snyder Show, the Larry King Show, Good Morning America, Dateline, and Unsolved Mysteries, and has been the subject of lengthy profiles in the Seattle Times, Tacoma News Tribune, and the Los Angeles Times.
Morse is the author of the best-selling books Closer to the Light, Transformed by the Light, and Parting Visions. His latest book, Where God Lives, presents a comprehensive new scientific understanding of how the brain can resonate with energetic patterns of the universe to permit communications with the dead, viewing at a distance with the mind, past life memories and premonitions of the future.
