Now retired from the practice of law, Gene writes aboard his yacht in Marina del Rey and the boating DVDs he produced are all detailed at www.boatingdvds.com

How Celestial Navigation Works

At Last... A Plain English Explanation Of The Subject

Authored by Gene Grossman

Magic Lamp's skipper Gene Grossman explains how easy it is to use Celestial Navigation to find your way around the world at sea with a sextant.

The creator of Magic Lamp Production's Safe Boating Series uses plain English with no complicated definitions or mathematics to show how similar celestial navigation is to coastal piloting, and why not to be 'afraid' of what everyone thinks is a mysterious subject that they absolutely cannot learn.

Once you see how easy it is to learn celestial navigation, you will realize how important it is to keep an inexpensive plastic sextant on board at all times (plus a Nautical Almanac), as a back-up to your sophisticated electronic navigational equipment - stuff that won't do you any good when the battery fails.
