This sort of thing does not happen to people like Jessie; a writer, a musician, and a fair student. She plays in the band, gets decent grades, and has plans to attend a major university after high school. Then two pink lines complicate her already complicated life; one of a family who never gets along, a mentally-unstable brother, and the comforts of a razor. Becoming a mother was not part of her plans. To make matters even worse, the secret of the father's identity is one that is literally killing her, and she can't tell anyone who he is. She waits months to even tell her journal what happened. When the pregnancy sinks in and she realizes that her life has been forever altered, she must decide whether or not the child she doesn't even know is worth living for. And it might just take an angel out of the blue for her to figure out that it is.
