Lenny McAllister is a talented public speaker with "...a mission to make positive changes to the status quo within politics, social issues and other issues that hamper our American way of life..."
McAllister appears regularly as a political commentator on outlets including CNN, XM Radio, and Fox TV Lenny writes for multiple websites including The Root, AOL, and Global Grind. McAllister's works have been found in traditional print including The Dallas Morning News, Newsweek, and The Charlotte Post. He is a leading force behind "Hip Hop Republicans", a group often mentioned by RNC Chairman Michael Steele.
Lenny was featured during the 2008 Republican National Convention. He appeared with Shepard Smith during Fox News' primetime webcast before Sarah Palin's acceptance speech. Lenny was also featured on "ABC News NOW" with Sam Donaldson in primetime before John McCain's acceptance speech.
McAllister was a panelist at the State of the Black Union in February 2009, one of the few to be active in both the Republican National Convention and the State of the Black Union. He was featured in CNN's "Young & Black In America: Empowering the Next Generation of African American Leaders" with Black leaders including NAACP President Ben Jealous.
Lenny is a Fellow for the Center for New Politics and Policy (formerly of the University of Denver.)
With the Hill House Association and MEN At Work in Pittsburgh, Lenny mentored teenage fathers and worked to stimulate urban economic development. Lenny served as a tutor for the Boys and Girls. Lenny contributes as a member doing advocacy for Return Ministries, the Domestic Violence Speakers' Bureau, Foresight Leadership, and M.O.V.E. Mentors in Charlotte, NC.
Lenny belongs to multiple Republican organizations and has participated in the US Senate's African-American Leadership Summit. Lenny also appeared as an invited speaker before the Pennsylvania House of Representatives' Judicial Committee to address inconsistencies in child custody laws and court proceedings. He has served on the United Way Community Advisory Board.
A native of Pittsburgh, Lenny excelled as a work-study student-athlete before graduating from Shady Side Academy to attend Davidson College and earn a degree in History.
