About the author:
Adam Kirk Pruden grew up in the itsy-bitsy town of Roxobel, North Carolina. After barely graduating from Bertie High School he entered the Marine Corps with the expectation that he'd never have to go to school again. Six years later he found himself without a job and faced employers seeking to hire only college graduates. In frustration he commenced night classes and only eight long years later graduated with a master's degree in business management. To this day he still has never worked in the field.

Pruden now resides in Sunrise, Florida and credits his more than twenty years of government service for exposing him to a multitude of fascinating people and an assortment of amazing experiences which have continually generated new ideas for his stories and characters.

A Week in the Miserable Life of Lloyd Canard

Authored by Adam Kirk Pruden

Lloyd Canard is a simple, below average man struggling through a life fraught with greater than average bad luck.

In a mere week of this man's miserable life: Lloyd Canard suffers encounters with idiotic supervisors; moronic subordinates; a nagging wife; a bratty teen daughter; is attacked by a drunk cashier; is accused of killing an already dead cat; is forced to attend an animal lovers conference; has his lunch snatched by an aggressive, overweight vegetarian; is chased by a mob; berated by a mime; suspected of being a terrorist; accidentally caught up in a pedophile sting; is pursued by a dim-witted detective; is on a plane with mechanical problems; faces a near death out-of-body experience and still much more.

In the end Lloyd escapes all of these trials without serious injury or prosecution. He even feels somewhat content to be back in the everyday tedium of his miserable life.
