About the author:
The road to "Living Water" has been a long one. In fact, I thought it a dead end three years ago when a computer crash claimed the only copy of my manuscript. It was probably more than a year later that I heard God speaking to me again about the project. And when I say "speaking" it went something like this ... an email from Living Water International ... a song on the radio ... a prayer from the pulpit ... a post on Facebook ... overheard conversations ... all using or incorporating the words "living water" into them. It seemed everywhere I went, I was seeing the words or hearing them spoken.
I think my favorite was the post on Facebook. The day that I prayed, asking for confirmation from the Lord that this was something he wanted me to begin again, there appeared on my newsfeed a line that a friend had read an article on Yahoo. Now we know how Facebook is and that all of our "friends" aren't necessarily people that we have close, personal relationships with. This was one of those acquaintances so, normally, I would not have clicked on the link but, that day, I did. And I found myself reading an article about Kirk Cameron and how he had just spent his birthday at Living Water Ministries in Bellflower. It didn't take a 2 x 4.
And so the road has led here. The journey has been a lesson in obedience for me, learning to carry something through to completion. It has been a lesson in faith, believing that God can bring something from nothing. And it has been an exercise in patience. Even though I felt as if I was dragging my feet at times, if I had finished it any sooner it would not be what it is now, for the cover design changed at the last moment. I love the photograph that my husband took. I think it's absolutely beautiful.
Something else I want you to know is that all of the royalties, every single penny, from the sale of this book will go to charitable organizations across the world that help people with getting clean drinking water into their communities. That is, after all, what God put my heart all those years ago, and the reason I began this journey.
Suitably subtitled, "Inspirational Poetry," a simple perusal of Living Water's table of contents will inspire you to get cozy 'n comfy and start reading from beginning to end!
Jennifer writes straight from the heart, holding nothing back. You will identify with her in poems about adversity and affliction and weep with her as she walks through the death of a loved one, while other poems will have you laughing out loud with the comical way she describes a bad hair day, temptation by chocolate or a visit to the dentist.
Living Water is a collection of 76 poems paired with related scripture verses. Acknowledging Jesus as the Living Water of her life, most of Jennifer's poetry comes from times spent in communion with her Lord and Savior.
All royalties from the sale of this book will go to charitable organizations across the world that help supply clean drinking water to people and their communities.
