About the author:
Theodocia McLean is an author residing in Raleigh, North Carolina. After a close relative lost their home of thirty-five plus years to an electrical fire that started in an under-the-counter microwave clock; Theodocia decided to write a workbook to help people track their property and important data.
Without good records, receipts, product manuals, etc., it can take years to be reimbursed by your insurance company for the contents of your home. Insurance companies require a full inventory list (right down to your last toothpick) with purchase price, make, model, serial number and year that an item was purchased.
The author suggests the purchase of two of these workbooks at the same time. One workbook should be kept in your home and filled out as purchases are made. The second workbook should duplicate the first as much as possible. These two workbooks should be rotated to a safety deposit box away from your home.
Theodocia writes this workbook so that you will be prepared in case of fire, flood, tornado, or even death. This workbook will make sure that your property, children and pets are well cared for in case of an emergency or death.
Household Property Inventory Workbook
A Must Have Record Keeping System!
The Household Property Inventory Workbook is one purchase you will wish you had made years ago. Not just for property owners, this book is for anyone with names, dates, and documents to remember. If you have valuable jewelry, art, computers, sports and exercise equipment-this is the book to keep track of serial numbers, sales receipts and other information. If it's in your home...put it in this book!
The Workbook begins with all the primary household family members' vital statistics: dates and places of birth, websites, e-mails, and cell numbers. If something happens to you and you're in the hospital and the neighbor needs to feed your three cats and two dogs, do you panic? No, you tell him where the Inventory Workbook is and he is all set to take care of your furry friends.
Heaven forbid your home is lost to fire, flood, or other natural disaster. However, this is when the Workbook really shines. Your home and its contents are your biggest investments and you've spent a fortune insuring for earthquakes, tornados and theft, etc. It's the worst time in your life and the insurance company policy adjuster wants proof of your loss. You followed the Workbook and recorded the serial numbers of all your valuables; you photographed everything, and listed all sales receipts, and owners' manuals. You're covered! Just sit back and wait for the insurance company to cut you a check!
This is just a small sampling of all the useful information recorded in the Workbook. I highly recommend that you pick one up for your home. The Inventory Workbook makes a great wedding or housewarming gift. If you have an adult child heading out on their own make sure he or she has a copy of the Workbook.
