Widely published in literary journals as a feature and short fiction writer, Diana Renfro received a Regional Artist Project Grant from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Arts and Science Council for the completion of Spanish Doors and later received a grant from the North Carolina Arts Council to work as writer-in-residence at Headlands Center for the Arts in California. She currently lives on a forty-five-acre farm in Grassy Creek, North Carolina where she gardens and nurtures the creative spirit with her husband, two rat terriers, and a cat.
