About the author:
Stanley Christopher a native of East Chicago, Indiana born of a Baptist Preacher attended Indiana University and Indiana Vocational and Technical College. He studied Fine Arts, Culinary Arts, Poetry, and Theater Costume Design. His entire life has been rooted in the process of being creative, he fondly remembers always wanting to create his own world as early as a young child lying in the floor doodling and drawing.

Working in different styles, with the intent of remaining ever fresh and open to the magic and discovery in creating art, he chooses mediums such as oils, acrylics, acrylic links, water colors, colored pencils, and colored markers to bring his images to life. While studying Poetry in college he became interested in writing haiku, sonnets, and short stories. Often he takes advantage of combining the two languages of visual art and spoken word, however for him images have become in many ways more of a viable language than the spoken word.

For the last thirty eight years he has uniquely viewed life from a wheelchair after being paralyzed from the waist down. Scaling the everyday barriers of our society can be enough to keep anyone distracted from any real progress in life yet he took the opportunity to prove to the world around him that being labeled handicapped is not synonymous with being "just plain stupid." So he rises like a Phoenix on a slow burn to return and the revelation of his spirit shines immensely throughout his body of work.

A Sought After Love

A Collection of Sonnets

Authored by Stanley Christopher

In the course of life we are impacted by experiences that evoke feelings that root in us as if planted, leaving seemingly huge questions. Then one day revelation arrives and the lingering questions dissolve. It becomes clear that they are not huge at all.
In the end the questions matter very little. It is the answers in revelations that loom monumental. Love, death, honor, wandering, rediscovery, marriage, closure... these are some of the life impacting elements that shaped and molded this book of poetry. These sonnets are bits and pieces of those life lessons born of those experiences.
