The Poetry of Laura Wilson Anderson

Authored by Nancy R. Smith, Annette Lamb
Designed by Annette Lamb

Known as the Star Community Poet Laureate, Laura Anderson Wilson wrote dozens of poems over a thirty year period in the early to mid 1900s. Drawing on her experiences as an one-room school teacher and avid
gardener to her years as a farm wife and active rural community member, Laura's poetry is filled with
references to friends, family, nature, and spirituality. While many of her poems were published in popular newspapers and books of the times, other poems are
appearing here for the first time in print.

From humorous poems about everyday life to heart-wrenching stories of personal sorrow, readers will become immersed in the after glow of the life of a unique woman. Chapters on the poet and her writing style provide insights into Laura's work.

Lovingly compiled by her great and great-great nieces, the book contains the illustrated, compiled works of a wonderful poet and unforgettable aunt.
