"As I stood there with my hands bound behind my back and a velvet bag tied over my head, I couldn't help but worry about what a complete disaster I had made of my life."
Jon is having a rough year.
After dropping out of college, he's barely holding down a sandwich delivery job as he struggles to find what he was meant to do with his life. He's feeling stuck in a rut and needs someone or
something to reassure him that his whole existence isn't pointless.
Then one day a lethal virus is discovered in the town of Avery Creek and faster than he can say speeding bullet, Jon finds himself on the wrong side of a government quarantine. At first the virus kills all in its path, but then it starts to change the survivors. Suddenly everyone has developed extraordinary powers...everyone but Jon.
Now locked away in a city with thousands of super powered citizens, Jon must learn how to live with his superhero girlfriend, Karen, how to avoid
getting victimized by villains, and above all, figure out why he's the only "normal" left.
Karen thinks he's a late bloomer. His mom thinks he's "passed over".
Everyone else just thinks he's a freak.
