About the author:
R.S. Pearson has been writing and publishing for over 20 years. He received his BA in English composition in 1987, and started ParaMind Brainstorming Software in 1992. A long time student of spirituality and psychology, Pearson's works on spiritual psychology seek to identify the pure spiritual drive while overcoming the common judgmental nature which often overcomes people's spiritual pursuits. His work is innovative enough to satisfy a need that hasn't been filled, and yet also satisfy interests that are common to many. As early as 1986, Pearson's work was published in a New York magazine on modern art and in other small press anthologies.
Grandiosity and the Empowerment of the Spiritual and Artistic
R. S. Pearson
"Grandiosity and the Empowerment of the Spiritual
and Artistic," is a new book by R.S. Pearson that focuses specifically on how people interested in spirituality and the arts can have certain types of grandiosity. This is the third book authored by Pearson
dealing with mental health challenges that face people drawn to spiritual practice. Such people often form part of a "resistant population" to therapy. They may have much to gain from psychological insight, but believe that they have everything they need because of
their spiritual practice or artistic abilities. Pearson's book devotes a long chapter on artists, called "Grandiosity and the Empowerment of
the Artistic." The book is devoted to the empowerment of the spiritual and artistic, so that by liberation from various character defects, they may be more empowered to give their strengths to others.
Focusing on the spiritual and artistic types of grandiosity is important because this is where some of the greatest growth in society can occur. If grandiose artists and spiritually-minded people became
more empowered in what they could really do in the world, it would contribute much to society. If the grandiose can have their understanding grow, and develop more empowerment in their lives, they
may find that the world needs them, as they believed it did, but in a direct way that has a very present application.
