About the author:
Bill Yund resides in southwestern Pennsylvania. He has written and illustrated extensively about blue collar topics. This is his first fictional mystery.
A small river town finds new life and new problems with the construction of a huge power station a few miles away.
Dan Roberts, a tough kid from a tough city, is dealing with his own hard times when he gets a break and a much needed job at the huge plant. His job as a helper with the clan-like asbestos workers involves him with the brotherhoods of the building trades; the iron workers, steamfitters, boilermakers and other skilled crafts, as well as hookers, shady cops, and the people of the towns and hills of the river valley.
Danny learns more than the trade when the hottest woman in town teaches him about love at peril. She's married to the toughest man in town.
Fate raises the stakes when Danny jumps into a barfight with the most treacherous sonofabitch on the job. Looking for vengeance, the man sets his sights on Danny's new bride, adding grim lessons in lust, blackmail, and murder.
A quarter-century later, Dan Roberts returns to settle an old score.
