About the author:
As a native Mexican and a visual artist, I am fascinated with Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) a Mexican tradition celebrated November 2nd. This theme inspires me to create raw and colorful paintings. The skeleton figure is a common figure depicted on this holiday.

Local merchants set up shop outside the cemetery gates to sell fresh flowers, food and drink. As a child growing up in Mexico, memories of taking part in this celebration remain dear in my heart.
I dedicate this book in memory of abuelita Virginia Haro.
