About the author:
Always seeking innovative ways to teach students how to find "voice" in their writing and develop the confidence to get their stories and poems onto paper, Mary has always perceived herself as a writer. As a principal in West Vancouver, Mary modeled writing stories for her students, wrote school musicals, created newsletters, professional articles, and school promotional materials.

As a recently retired school administrator, Mary now has the gift of time to write humorous stories that will appeal to the Middle Years reader, with whom she spent her career.

Mary's grown-up sons both have a French Bulldog. They are passionate about their "Frenchies"! Her "grand-dogs", with their big personalities, their comical antics, and adorable dispositions, were the inspiration for this novel. With everyone willing to make sure their puppies have nothing but the best- Organic Foods, Spas, and Doggie Hotels, it was timely to write a story about a twelve year old boy who had his heart set on owning his very own "Frenchie".

Frenchie's Best Friend

Authored by Mary L Laudien

Follow the blog of daily misadventures, as Ethan's cohort of allies attempts to deceive his overworked mom by setting a nefarious scheme in motion to own his Frenchie.

Ethan, an underachieving middle-years student, has one focus in life: to own a French Bulldog. He can't convince his overwhelmed, single mom that he is deserving of a pet, so he enlists the aid of his somewhat devious and slippery grandmother in a business plan to realize his dream. It becomes a covert operation of misadventures, processed on his nightly blog, "Frenchie's Best Friend." The journey is both humorous and unnerving, as Ethan's "Doggie Wash" business faces the risks of blowing up in his face. Join Ethan and his blog followers, as he confronts each new chaotic challenge towards pet ownership.

If you aren't totally "gaga" over "Frenchies" before reading this novel, you will be by the time you finish it, guaranteed!

But of course we all know that you don't always get what you want! Or do you?
