About the author:
"I paint the skies with peace and passion, because that's the way they paint me."
I have written poetry since childhood - a strong cultural influence of my birth country, Wales. As a teenager I was apparantly regarded as the best poet in my class - a rare mark of respect from my fellow students.
Painting was also frequent joy as a small child and I dreamed then of becoming a skyscapist.
In 1995 I came to Southern California, discovered the spoken word scene, and continued to write.
After moving to Malibu, I had an opportunity to work on photography skills.
Another 5 months later I was having difficulty getting my mind off one particular
photograph I had taken. I had an epiphany: "Now, you have to paint!".
Now living in the Colorado Desert, the vastness of the spaces rekindled that childhood love affair with the skies.
The sky remains the major influence in my painted work.
This book is one of the outlets that brings the output of my brushes and pens together.
The Skies of Peace and Passion
This book is a collection of poems and paintings, inspired by life, and the skies that remind me how small that life is, yet how wonderful it is to be able to use that life to appreciate a big sky.
