About the author:
Scientist/artist/inventor, Gary Greenberg, uses his special 3D microscopes to create spectacular landscapes of worlds beyond our everyday perception. He co-founded Edge-3D where he develops high-definition, three-dimensional light microscopes, for which he has been issued eighteen US patents. Dr. Greenberg currently directs the Microscopy & Microanalysis Laboratory at the Advanced Technology Research Center in Maui, HI, a branch of the University of Hawaii Institute for Astronomy, where he studies moon sand collected during NASA's Apollo missions.

Stacy Keach, star of stage, film and television for over forty years, met Gary Greenberg in the late 1960s and they immediately became good friends. At that time, Greenberg headed a company called Environmental Communications, devoted to the distribution of photographic slides and videos of art and architecture, to universities and libraries around the world, and he became a member of their artistic advisory board. Keach has always maintained an active interest in the world of science, and how it intersects with the worlds of art and history. He has been the narrator for many scientific documentaries, including a ten-year run on the award-winning series, Nova, The Planet Earth, and the Savage Seas.
