About the author:
Urban Fantasy author Marcia Colette didn't discover her love for reading until her late teens when she started reading John Saul and progressed to works by Bentley Little, Stephen King and Laurell K. Hamilton. Her reading tastes convinced her to write paranormals where curses cause people to shift into spiders, psychotic and telekinetic mothers are locked away in attics, and murderous doppelgangers are on a rampage. Let's not forget about the hunky werecheetah coalitions who live throughout North Carolina. As long as she can make it believable, that's all that matters.
Born and raised in upstate New York, Marcia now lives in North Carolina with her mom and beautiful daughter. They're not raising zombies in the backyard. There aren't any hellhounds living in the den. So where she gets her ideas is as much a mystery to her as everyone else.

The Spider Inside Her
Dark Encounters, Book #1
It's in her nature.
As the manager of a domestic abuse shelter, Loréal Ingram is making half the salary she used to, behind on her mortgage, and has lost faith in being an advocate for victims after three die on her watch. When a job offer lands in her lap, she wants to take it...until hell comes her way in the form of a curse that changes her into a humanoid spider. She's forced to share her mind and body with an insect spirit who thrives on death.
The arachnid, her Mr. Hyde-like personality, is fueled by vengeance, and the handler who should be managing her kills sucks at his job. One abuser after another dies under mysterious circumstances and the trail leads to Loréal. She learns that the handler has botched the curse and unleashed The Spider Inside Her upon the wrongdoers associated with the shelter's victims. She needs to find the one responsible for the curse before the arachnid takes complete control and turns her into a raging lunatic who'll kill anyone for a minor infraction, including the only person who can save her.
