About the author:
Tom Spence is the pastor of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Burns Flat, Oklahoma.

He serves in an area where many children have never been told that God loves them.

Many of these children have parents who have told them that they love them. But what do those words mean when these same parents don't want to have any more to do with their own children than they must.

What does "I love you" mean to a child left to get dressed, find something to eat or not, and get to school without any assistance from a parent too hung over to get up and get them to FIRST GRADE!

What does "I love you" mean to a child whose parents don't have enough to buy a winter coat, school supplies, or even underwear for their own children, but always seem to manage to scrounge the cash when the cigarettes run out?

It is easy to be judgmental.
That is not the goal of this brief message.

The issue of parenting needs to be addressed, and will be in a separate book: Throw Away Kids.

This short book is a message that every child needs to hear, understand, and believe regardless of their life experience.

God Loves you.
God Loves you.
God loves you.

There is not a lot of biography in the author biography. Here's the short version.

Tom is a retired Marine Officer.
He has been an independent trainer and consultant.
He has been an addiction treatment counselor.
He has been a news paper manager.

He is called to deliver this simple message to as many people as he can--especially children--God loves you.

God loves you!

God Loves You

A simple message for a complicated time

Authored by Tom Spence

Kids get crazy messages these days.

Some from television.
Some from video games.
Some from magazines.
Some from friends.
Yes, even some from teachers.
And the craziest on the list, some from parents.

We live in a time when people will believe almost anything.
We live in a time when parents don't know what to teach their kids.
Some parents don't want to teach their kids.

And in each of these cases the kids get the short end of the stick.

Too many people expect someone else to fix today's problems.

Sometimes that happens.
Sometimes we like the solution.
Sometimes we don't.

Making sure that our children know the truth is not a sometimes affair.

What is truth?

For some that is a tough question.

It shouldn't be.

Among all the horse hockey slung around these days masquerading as truth, there is a truth that stands above the fray and must be told.

God loves you.

Our children should hear this at least once a day.

It should be on signs in their rooms.
It should be in notes in their backpacks.
It should be a thought that never escapes them during the day.
It should be a topic of daily conversation.

It is seldom any of those.
That needs to change.

Read this book to your children until they are old enough to read it for themselves.

They need to know that the creator of all matter says that they matter and he loves them.

God loves you.
