About the author:
Chris Mercer and Bev Pervan are the co-authors of the critically acclaimed book For the Love of Wildlife, published in 2000, and the booklet Canned Lion Hunting - A National Disgrace, published in 2005. They have become well-known in animal welfare circles worldwide for their campaign to save the lives of caracals and other endangered species; for the wildlife rehabilitation centre that they established in the Kalahari, and for their ongoing efforts to get canned hunting banned. They are the founders and directors of the NGO Campaign Against Canned Hunting. In 2006, Chris was awarded the prestigious Marchig Trust International award for his work in animal welfare.
