The book is structured for anyone working in with electrical systems in industry. The material is particularly designed for individuals that encounter electrical systems, but electrical is not their primary area. This includes engineers, technicians, mechanics, and supervisors. In addition, there is enough technical information that electricians and electrical engineers will benefit from the material, discussions, and interactions with users.
At the completion of the book, the participant will understand the components of and know how to size a complete electrical installation including the motor, protection, wire, and transformers. This analysis will involve considerations of the National Electrical Code, as well as Canadian Electrical Code, and IEC interactions. The discussion will involve conventional as well as hazardous locations and the requirements of each system.
The participant will be well versed in electrical safety. The topics will include personal safety, grounding, lightning, and risks of fire. The information is readily structured for a seminar / short course.
