What would you do if a big, furry, St.Bernard came thumping on your door?

Brothers, Roger and Luke Braden, were thrilled when the huge dog showed up. Because he had no collar, he must be a stray. A sloppy eater and drinker, the friendly dog acted as if he wanted to stay. The brothers quickly named him Lummox because his size and sloppy drinking made him seem clumsy. They were ready to give him a home.

But their parents said, "No."

The dog was too big for the house and yard, and he was too expensive to feed. Besides, the boys already had a Cocker Spaniel. Lummox would have to go to live on a friend's farm where he could romp and play.

But before Lummox could be given away, the brothers took him out to play while they raced their homemade go-cart down a steep hill. When trouble hit, their new friend showed he was not really a lummox at all...
