About the author:
Dr. Greg Jackson is an active performer, clinician and educator across the nation. He received a B.S. in Music Composition/Theory from Austin Peay State University, a M.M. degree in Music Theory/Composition from The University of Alabama, and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Percussion Performance at the University of Alabama. Jackson has performed with numerous artists including Nancy Zeltsman, Michael Burritt, Tomas Cruz, Tito Puente Jr., Son Caliente and Bob Mintzer of the Yellow Jackets. Currently he is playing congas and percussion with the bands Basic Element and Low Voltage.
Dr. Jackson is the author of several books including The Well-Tempered Marimbist, Legendary, Pandora, Etudes Op. 48, The Synergy Method for Marimba, Congas Full Circle, The Synergy Method for Drumming, and Phenom: The Excellence of Execution and has an instruction DVD for congas as well as a CD featuring Jackson on congas.
