About the author:
Ray Svenson has spent over 35 years developing and applying Human Performance Technology strategies, processes, and tools in large corporations. Ray has expertise in Business-Driven Strategic Planning for Learning and Development and HR, Organizational Effectiveness, Organization Design, Business Strategy Implementation, Leadership Team Facilitation, and Employee Qualification and Certification Systems. Ray has been a member of the International Society for Performance Improvement since 1978. He is the co-author of The Training and Development Strategic Plan Workbook, which won the ISPI award for outstanding instructional publication in 1994. Ray is a coauthor with Guy Wallace and Karen Kennedy of The Quality Roadmap. Ray's degrees are in Electrical Engineering. Ray is a Certified Performance Technologist (CPT).
Guy W. Wallace has been in the performance improvement field since 1979 and has been an external consultant to government and industry since 1982. His clients since then have included over 60 firms, with more than 40 Fortune 500 firms. He has analyzed, designed, and developed improvement interventions, including job and organizational designs, recruiting and selection systems, training and development, pay-for-performance systems for a wide variety of industries and business functions and processes. He is the author/co-author of over 12 books, several chapters, and more than 90 published articles beginning in 1984. Since 1982 he has presented more than 90 times at international conferences and local chapters of the International Society for Performance Improvement, the American Society for Training & Development, plus he has spoken at Training Magazine's Lakewood Conferences, the Association for Behavior Analysis, and the Conference on Nuclear Training & Education. Guy W. Wallace served on the ISPI's executive committee as the treasurer for the 1999-2001 boards and as ISPI's president-elect and then president for 2002-2004. He received ISPI's highest honorary award, the Honorary Member for Life Award for his contributions to both the Society and to the technology of Human Performance Technology (HPT) in 2010. His professional biography was listed in Who's Who in America in 2001 and he was designated a Certified Performance Technologist in 2002. He was an inaugural member of the American Society for Quality's Influential Voices campaign in 2010.
