About the author:
John is a child of the 1970s and grew up near Indianapolis, IN. In his youth, he delivered newspapers, detasseled corn, went cow tipping, and studied music. Before his 20th birthday, he was an award-winning bass/baritone soloist, had been detained by Russian police, was invited to the NFL combine, had navigated a cruise ship, and worked in two haunted houses.

Always curious, he physically traveled through Western Europe, the Caribbean, eastern Canada, and almost all fifty of the United States. His sense of curiosity included "travel" in astral projection, remote viewing, Usui Reiki, and Silva Method.

Following a coma in 2005, his interest in metaphysics grew exponentially after a download of information. In addition to freelance writing, he also speaks on a variety of topics blending scientific research, metaphysics and personal experience.

The Alchemist's Heir

Authored by John J Mathis

Following the tradition in literature that uses the Merlin / Young Arthur framework to pass along the wisdom of sages past, I used a mysterious grandfather and his bullied grandson as my fictional characters to explain a very real tale. It is my tale of discovery of astral projection, Reiki, meditation, spiritualism and several techniques taught by Silva Mind Method. It helped me in my own cases of being bullied, my personal development, and in just basic survival on this God given playground.

My path of self discovery has been a hard won series of treasures and teachers. I want to share this information with others who feel that same itch. That thing that tells them that what goes on behind the curtain is much more interesting than what is on the stage.

The book is meant to be a metaphysical primer for those getting onto the metaphysical highway. The tone and voice is easily accessible but the messages and references herein are a treasure map for a lifetime of discovery. The story closes with a list of suggested readings that include trans-personal psychology, classic literature, mental mastery and mind-body work. This work is motivated, in part, by a download of information I received after my coma. Please see for more information. Thank you for reading.
