About the author:
Chris Dinesen Rogers was born in suburban Chicago. Acting on her love of the outdoors and conservation, she volunteered with Brookfield Zoo and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. In 1988, She moved to Minnesota to pursue a career in natural resources.

Chris has worked with the U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Nature Conservancy. She and her husband, Norm, continued volunteering for environmental causes with the National Park Service at Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky. In 2000, both Chris and Norm were awarded the state of Kentucky Colonel award for their work in restoring parts of Mammoth Cave.

Chris taught pre-nursing students beginning courses at both the community college and university level. In 2002, she began her own art business. Creativity continues to be a driving force with Chris. She started freelance writing and continues to promote conservation and health education.
