About the author:
British singer-songwriter Bobby Long has been writing finely-crafted songs since taking up the guitar at age 17. Born in Wigan near Manchester and raised in the countryside of Wiltshire, he became a fixture at London's open-mic nights while attending university there, graduating with a degree in sound and media for film. The songwriter behind "Let Me Sign," a song featured in soundtrack of the blockbuster film Twilight, Long cultivated a devoted fan base for his intensely personal songs, and after a lengthy initial tour of U.S., Canada and Europe, he relocated to New York City to pursue his music career in 2010.

A WINTER TALE, Long's debut album, was released by ATO Records in February, 2011. With a repertoire deeply rooted in American folk, blues and country music, he toured extensively in support of the album, as a headliner and on the bill of major music festivals, among them Bonnaroo, the Dave Matthews Band Caravan and Austin City Limits.

A writer of poetry and prose since the age of 12, the lengthy periods of free time while travelling in a van allowed Long to carve out a specific schedule for writing while on the road. He wrote dozens of new songs, but also wrote the poems that would become his first collection of poetry, LOSING MY BROTHERHOOD.

The new songs will be part of his second album of original material, produced in Los Angeles by Ted Hutt (Flogging Molly, Gaslight Anthem, Old Crow Medicine Show). It is slated for release by ATO Records in the fall, 2012.

Losing My Brotherhood

a collection of poems

Authored by Bobby Long

LOSING MY BROTHERHOOD, the provocative first collection of poems from prolific British singer-songwriter Bobby Long, explores various universal themes, among them love, desire and disappointment with a healthy dose of memory and reflection. In his writing, Long lays bare a range of emotions while keeping his wry sense of humor intact. The volume is illustrated with 15 bold pen-and-ink drawings by artist Ben Edge.
