About the author:
Richard Sardinha is an award winning artist and spinner of tales. His fascination with creating art began at an early age when he spent many a summer day deep in the woods drawing the local flora and fauna. When not drawing, he discovered the colorful world of comics from Herge to Herriman. Drawing eventually led to painting where the works of such artists as Sargent, Gerome, Pyle, & N.C. Wyatt served to inspire his imagination. Thanks to Rick's singular ability to capture that defining moment (aka the "Uh Oh" moment) just before all action breaks loose, his art is well known for its rich story telling content. Expanding on that ability, he has now returned to his roots and combined quirky humor and lively images to create his first series of graphic novels, "Tails of the Porkus". The Shortkut is first in this series.

He lives in Rhode Island with his wife, two dogs and a badger puppet with a bad attitude.

The Shortkut

A Tail of the Porkus

Authored by Rick Sardinha

The Shortkut, A Tail of the Porkus is a silent graphic story about a hapless truck driver late to market with a consignment of watermelons. If he is not on time with the load, he won't get paid. With time running out, he takes a shortkut across the desert which leads through a series of haunted canyons. However, within that shorter distance are dangers untold and what ensues is completely unexpected. He even was warned by the melon grower who might just have his own agenda.

What haunts the dark cool canyons? Will the truck driver be able to escape and if he does will he be in time to get paid? What is the melon grower really up to?

The answers to these burning questions lie within the pages of The Shortkut, A Tail of the Porkus!

The Shortkut is a story suitable for all ages.
