About the author:
As her sons neared college graduation, Carolyn looked for an interesting diversion for the empty nest years: a job perhaps, or a ministry, or a volunteer project. Instead, breast cancer found her and took her on a pink ribbon journey from diagnosis, through treatment, and into a place of personal growth and new perspectives. Along the way, her journal grew into a book as she recorded life lessons, blessings, and challenges on the road to healing. Come along as she shares the emotional peaks and valleys which she encountered as she faced surgeries and chemotherapy. Ride The Pink Ribbon Express through experiences that are sometimes funny, sometimes frustrating, but often opportunities for great lessons in love and faith and moving forward in surprising ways.
Carolyn and her husband Ward live in Richmond, Virginia, and enjoy having their two sons living close by. She is an office manager for a large OB/GYN practice. She enjoys speaking to women's groups and quilts in her spare time

"How resounding the words that are painted. I recently experienced a needle biopsy and scare and Carolyn's words were ever so present at the exact time I was struggling with the possibility of having cancer. God delivered me and Carolyn in different ways. This is a soulfully written biography intertwining family, fear, and freedom in God. Carolyn brings the reality of cancer to the foot of the cross and does not back down, but she humbly shares her journey in a way that is compelling to all women. May God continue to bless her writing, living, and loving the Lord."
