About the author:
Emily Meidenbauer has always had a love for writing, and her writing talents have been recognized since as early as second grade. She has always known that writing would be the thing she'd spend the rest of her life doing.
In addition to writing, Emily enjoys music; she plays violin, piano, cello, and guitar. She also loves cooking/baking, babysitting, working as a counselor of a day camp, and spending time with friends.
Emily will be attending Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in the fall where she plans to major in Elementary Education and Creative Writing.
'A Little Different' is Emily's second novel and the sequel to 'Right Where My Heart Should Be'.
'Right Where My Heart Should Be' and 'A Little Different' are both completely fictional and have no connection to Emily's life, although she feels a connection with the characters, which is why she's been able to put so much dedication into the making of the novel. Emily has two other novels, 'Identity,' which follows the same story as RWMHSB, but tells the story from different perspectives of characters and also offers more insight on characters' back stories, and "Dear Elliot," a romance novel.
Aside from writing, she has also always had a love for music, and plays violin, piano and guitar. She finds a lot of inspiration from music.
Her family and friends are very important to her, and 'Right Where My Heart Should Be' and 'A Little Different' would not be possible without their love and support.

A Little Different
The school year is coming to a close, and thirteen-year-old Eliza Gates just got the news from Aunt Brooke. A talented musician who recently landed a record deal, Brooke Gates is about to embark on an eight-week long tour over the summer, and she asks her niece Eliza to accompany her on the trip. Eliza doesn't hesitate to say yes, but is also disappointed about leaving behind her circle of friends and her boyfriend, Andrew. On July 1st, Eliza and Aunt Brooke hit the road and set off on a journey that will take them much further than they expected. While on tour, Eliza and Aunt Brooke will pick up a familiar "hitchhiker" who will force them to make life-changing decisions. Aunt Brooke's plans for the future might have to change. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's just a little different.
