About the author:
JoDa Hodge, a writer, producer, adventurer and rising social media guru, was born on the Bean Hollow Vermont hippie commune to a VW Bug-driving carpenter and a Jersey school teacher. Over Packer Mountain loomed an abandoned military base- commandeered by the Hells Angels.
At UVM, Amen Teter served as JoDa's memorable classmate. With degrees in English, Psychology and Communications, JoDa was homeless, working as a WCAX-TV News cameraman, sleeping on the shores of Lake Champlain.
JoDa then bought a Harley with a credit card from the Hardwick funeral home director... eventually riding solo x-country from Beatnik San Francisco back to Vermont. From this near-death trip, JoDa penned his first Harley travel novel, Freedom Road.
JoDa's Brother, Nathan Hodge, died, his fiancée broke his heart, another NEK girlfriend, Melissa Jenkins, was murdered, and a third became a "vegan porn star."
These tragedies inspired JoDa to pen eight novels and the multi-award-winning film and television franchise, Departed Harvest-The World's First Solar-powered Hippie Crime Drama.
Departed Harvest won the 2011 American International Screenplay Competition and the 2011 Rhode Island International Screenplay Competition.
PORN BABE: Unauthorized Biography of My Ex: Josi Valentine
A former stripper and high school Art teacher flips into an aspiring porn star, like her heroine, Jenna Jameson; as told by Josi's last boyfriend before she entered porn and prostitution, JoDa Hodge.
"I read four separate excerpts and pulled over, ripped it in half and threw it in a CVS parking lot trash:)"
-Josi re. her unauthorized biography rough draft.................................................................
"So glad you two found each other, and thanks for the generous words [in Porn Babe], and for reading my book!"
-Melissa Febos, former professional dominatrix and author of Whip Smart..........................................................................
"Brilliant! Having read, and thoroughly enjoyed JoDa's books in the past, I was super excited to read the newest edition to the lineup.
What I found inside was an incredibly candid, introspective look at the rise and fall of a relationship troubled by two strong, artistic, emotionally vulnerable persons.
JoDa's self effacing was quite a bit more prominent here than before, which, when writing about real life is a large step into understanding oneself.
It appears that Josi, and writing this piece helped JoDa finally be able to put some ointment on the wound under the bandages and begin to let it heal, instead of fester.
It was less Thompson and more Hodge.
He has officially found his voice.
