Simon Marlow was born and educated in Scotland. His desire through adolescence was to apply engineering principles to the human body. He graduated from Strathclyde University in Scotland with a BSc in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Bio-Engineering. His PhD specialized in the control of blood oxygen during heart-lung bypass. He spent the next 20 plus years in Pharmaceuticals working for such companies as SmithKline Beecham and Sanofi-Aventis. His love for science and engineering, as applied to the human anatomy, has put him in a unique position of understanding how the body functions in terms of biology engineering and science.
