Be What God Has Made You

Living Your Identity In Christ

Authored by Chris J Pluger

God never asks us to do anything that he has not given us the ability to do. In fact, God never asks us to do anything that he has not already done for us in Jesus Christ. When God gives us a command, he gives us the power to do it. When God says "believe," he also sends his Holy Spirit to create faith in our hearts. When he tells us to "be," he also makes us into what he wants us to be.

It is this great Biblical truth that inspired the devotions in this book: Be what God has made you! The words are simple. The message is clear.

The Bible is full of descriptions of those who believe in Christ: God has made us his children, new creations, dead to sin, the Body of Christ, aliens and strangers, salt and light - the list goes on and on. Each of these descriptions presents a deep and profound truth for us to ponder as we gaze deeply into the face of Christ. There we see his mighty work on our behalf, and from there we draw strength for our daily lives.

This book contains thirty short devotions, originally written as weekly meditations for the faculty of a Christian school. Now revised and expanded, each one is a reminder of our true positional standing and identity in Christ, and each is an encouragement to live out that identity each day - to be what God has made us.

(Proceeds from the sale of this book will support Bible Translation work among the people of the world without access to Scripture in their mother-tongue.)
