About the author:
Anthony Giarmo was interested in mythology since his childhood in Guttenberg, New Jersey, where he was inspired by the mysterious forests of the Palisades along the Hudson, and by the skyscraping towers of the magnificent Atlantis across the timeless river. He earned his B.A. degree in Speech and Theater at Montclair State College in 1970 and went on to form a children's theater group called Theater of the Imagination, after which he pursued a literary career. He self-published The Adventures of Freefall O'Keefe, an aviation story, in 1999, as an on-line print for purchase novel. Retiring from Kodak in 2004, his odyssey came full circle to his first love, mythology. Sweet Muse of Madness and the Song of Greece series is the result. Anthony Giarmo resides with his wife, Barbara, in New Jersey. They have a son, Chris, and live a short drive from the Palisades.

In the novel Sweet Muse of Madness, we experience the dramatic interaction between those who seek truth in Nature, and those who find consolation in a God of Judgment. We journey back five thousand years to pre-bronze age Greece, where the People of the Plain of Thessaly worship an Earth Mother personified by a God-Queen and God-King of the inviolate Sacred Grove. Into this small farming community comes a merchant-priest and his young male acolyte from the land of Sumer across the World Sea. It is the foreign priest's intention to proselytize the faith of his Heavenly Father before the Goddess worshipping People of the Plain, but to his dismay his acolyte is seduced by the Queen and King's two teenaged daughters, as well as by seasonal celebrations purging demons and manifesting violent, lustful rebirth. Thus desire and ambition lead the young eastern acolyte into an unexpected fate in the Sacred Grove, wherein a God-King must be challenged, a God-Queen and her daughters embraced, and where the seeds of a transformed world will be sown.
