About the author:
JULIE KIM was born in Seoul, South Korea and raised in New York City. She is currently a high
school teacher working for the NYC Department of Education instructing students in the subject of English.
She has always had dreams of publishing her book and was able to fulfill that wish with this first book written for children. The character of Emma, portrayed in the story, is that of the author herself. The activities included in the book are drawn from her experience as a teacher.
She is currently underway with another book for an older audience.
EMMA is a story of a little girl who inspires children to read, think, and write. It is a book of encouragement, learning and applying. Children are encouraged to think and use their imagination; learn the significance of reading, writing, and grammar usage; and apply the knowledge acquired from the story on the activity pages that follow the reading. It has been written to target kindergarten to second grade level.
Children, parents, and teachers won't want to miss an opportunity to read and share the book, EMMA. It is inspirational, educational, and enjoyable to read.
