Muscle Car Action! 1969

Authored by Steve Statham
Edition: 1

High-compression V-8s. Shaker hood scoops. Hurst shifters. Hood-mounted tachometers. Traction Lok. Cobra Jets, Magnums and Ram Air. If these terms mean anything to you, then you've probably commanded the gas pedal of a tire-smoking American muscle car at some point in your life. Or perhaps you're just curious about why people still rave about these extroverted cars so many years later.

Muscle Car Action! 1969 captures the best cars of that time, some of the rarest and most outrageous muscle cars to emerge from the final year of a tumultuous decade. Included is a street-level view of the sales race, production figures and perspectives on how cut-throat professional racing competition shaped the street cars of the era. The book also contains color feature profiles on beautifully restored and original muscle cars of 1969 including the Dodge Charger R/T Hemi, COPO 427 Camaro, Mustang Mach 1 428SCJ, Dodge Super Bee 440 Six Pack, Mercury Cyclone CJ, Yenko Nova 427, Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, Dodge Dart GTS 440 and Mustang GT convertible.
