Matt Braynard was born on Long Island, New York, and was raised in Georgetown, South Carolina. He graduated from the George Washington University and has started and runs a creative design agency and a political consulting firm. He has traveled extensively through Southeast Asia, has trained in Muay Thai and boxing, has completed several marathons and Ironman triathlons, and has an advanced open water SCUBA certification. He is the author of TheDailyMatt.com, a daily, 100 word essay on politics, art, and culture. He attends St. Mary's Church in Washington, DC, and St. Cyprian's Church in Georgetown, SC.
