The BixoBrat, Dr. Cynthia Robbins-Roth
The Biotech Soap Opera For Our Time
There is an amazing scientific, technical, and medical revolution going on around us. The Human Genome Project gave us the DNA blueprint for understanding and curing ourselves. We are entering the world of personalized medicine. Yet few are aware of the sordid underbelly of the therapeutic business - where money, power, and fabulous accessories collide to create new companies and fortunes, and hopefully a great product or two.
Based on true stories from the world of biotechnology and high finance, "All My Clones" takes us on a carnival ride into the boardrooms and bedrooms of an international industry. The episodes, written by industry insiders embedded in key corporations, follow the fortunes of two main characters:
Rupert is the witty Chief Executive Officer of Cappuccino Pharmaceuticals. But that doesn't mean he understands pharmaceuticals. Or medicine. Or science. He reaches for any chance of funding the company, and he reaches for the Next Big Thing. What or who else does he reach for?
Odessa is a wickedly smart, fabulously fashionable investment banker who can't abide fools, yet constantly finds herself surrounded by them. As she travels the world scoping out the next hot investing trend, Odessa fights the forces of evil that constantly threaten to convert the biotech industry into a bevy of over-funded losers and pathetically under-funded firms.
Truly a biotech soap opera that will never be cancelled, "All My Clones" shows you what all those medical soaps dare not tell.
