Volume 1, An Ordinary Woman in Extraordinary Places

Authored by Phyl Manning

International Book Award Finalist

Originally from Nebraska, Phyl Manning took advantage of an opportunity to teach abroad, and with her family went first to Saipan, then Ponape (now "Pohnpei") in the West Pacific. After several years, they went on from there to work and live in (and travel around) other places until Phyl can say she has spent time on every continent except Australia ("Still a bucket destination") and Antarctica ("No thanks"). The stories herein are some of the adventures of this "ordinary woman in extraordinary places."

"Phyl Manning has been around the block, so to speak, and the blocks have been around the world-Southeast Asia, the West Pacific, Africa and other places most of us have likely never been. She's consorted with a host of intriguing people and wild things from Saipan to Nepal, Thailand to Zimbabwe. She has an open mind, as well as an open heart, and the compulsively listenable voice of a natural storyteller. Read and enjoy."
