About the author:
Kenton Kilgore is on a mission to reinvent young adult fantasy and science fiction. To offer an alternative to the cliches and the tired tropes. To present something besides the rip-offs and the retreads and the "trendy." Kenton creates characters you can care about and worlds you will get lost in. He tells tales that keep you turning pages, fill you with wonder, and make you think.
LOST DOGS, Kenton's next novel, tells the story of Buddy--a German Shepherd--and Sally--a Beagle/Basset mix--who struggle to survive after the human race is wiped out in a single August afternoon.
Kenton's first novel was DRAGONTAMER'S DAUGHTERS. He took much of his inspiration for it from his childhood in Arizona and his studies of the Navajo people. DRAGONTAMER'S DAUGHTERS was a Finalist for Best YA novel at the 2013 eFestival of Words Virtual Book Fair.
Kenton earned a B.A. in English Literature at the University of Maryland College Park, where he concentrated in creative writing, mythology, medieval English, and the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. He obtained an M.A. in English Literature at Washington College in Chestertown, MD.
He and his family live in Stevensville, MD with too many dogs and cats. He enjoys riding motorcycles; playing Warhammer 40,000; and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins.

WHEN OUR WORLD ENDS, THEIR STRUGGLE BEGINS. Buddy--a German Shepherd--and Sally--a Beagle mix--are the beloved pets of Rob and Gennifer Bennett and their young daughter Audrey. Their home is Kent Island, Maryland: a beautiful, peaceful place, good for raising a family, good for having dogs.
When unearthly beings strike without warning or mercy against humankind, Buddy and Sally lose the ones they love and the lives they knew. Now they must band with other "lost dogs" to find food, water, and shelter in a world suddenly without their owners.
But survival is not enough for Buddy: he holds out hope that Rob, Genn, and Audrey live. And that he can find them before inhuman forces ensure that man is never again Earth's master.
