Socrates

A logical and philosophical portrait

Authored by Hingo Weber

This book, divided into two interdependent and complementary parts ("Socrates' Symposium" and "Socrates and the Sophists"), is a mental and analytical reconstruction of the image of the most influential philosopher of all times, based on the study of the classics by Plato, The Apology of Socrates and the Symposium. Sometimes, in the nooks of Plato's works, the book shows us a Socrates who seems autonomous and independent of Plato, very different from that portrait of Socrates bequeathed by tradition and represented by Dante, in the Divine Comedy, as walking ahead of the philosophical family very close ("più presto") to Plato. In this sense, the book could also be titled "Socrates by Socrates".
