About the author:
Christina M. Dalpiaz, founder of CHANCE (Changing How Adults Nurture Children's Egos), is a family and couples counselor who focuses on replacement skills for unhealthy behaviors. She holds a master's degree in psychology and has earned certifications in early childhood development, victims' advocacy and addiction counseling. Ms. Dalpiaz has written five books, contributed to two others and helped produce training videos and documentaries for television. She has appeared on The Nancy Grace and Dr Drew television programs, as well as a variety of national and regional broadcasts. Ms. Dalpiaz enlisted in the US Navy 1979 and worked her way through the ranks to retire in 2003 as a Lieutenant Commander. A lecturer both nationally and internationally, in 1998 she was named the Aurora (Colorado) Family Violence Response Team "Above and Beyond Child Advocate of the Year." Ms. Dalpiaz, an advocate for families of all configurations, lives by her organization's slogan: Healthy Habits, Happy Home.
