Fig Leaf Shorts: Understanding Adam and Eve's Wardrobe Fiasco

Authored by Joseph F. Barrale

Adam and Eve's first wardrobe was a fiasco. What in the world were they thinking as they put this outfit together? What can we learn from their fashion nightmare? As funny as fig leaf shorts may appear in your mind's eye, mankind is still struggling, everyday, with the same logic that made Adam and Eve learn how to sew. FIG LEAF SHORTS is an inquiry into the ramifications of this fashion statement.

How does it still affect the individual and the church as a whole?

FIG LEAF SHORTS is an attempt at beginning a "new" theological discussion concerning individual and corporate spiritual growth. God's response to Adam and Eve's wardrobe decision plays a key factor throughout the Bible. FIG LEAF SHORTS traces this response through the Bible, right down to Paul's statement in Romans 13.14 and Galatians 3.27 where he states that Christians should be clothed in Christ. What does this look like?

As you read FIG LEAF SHORTS perhaps you will discover some of your own wardrobe fiascoes.
