About the author:
K. Latham was born and raised in East Texas, where she found herself searching for an outlet for her muse.
She tried painting and sketching, yet wasn't very good. Poetry was fun and helped her mold her vocabulary as well as imagery. Yet, she still felt incomplete.
Finally, she decided to try her hand at writing fiction. Who knew it would be the answer to her dream?
Spirits of the Island
On the small island of Guam, ancient spirits are said to roam the jungle, protecting it from outsiders. For seventeen year old Tori Smith, a newcomer, they are no more than stories told to scare children. She is torn between excitement and dread about moving to the tropical paradise.
Sure, getting to meet Michael, who just happens to be exotic looking and hot, and the son of her mom's best friend, is great ... but leaving behind her friends and everything she knows isn't.
Not to mention she has to babysit her kid brother, Lee until school starts. The locals' tales become all too real when the spirits kidnap Lee for breaking the laws of the jungle. With Michael's help, Tori must now face her fears, believe in magic and be willing to sacrifice herself to save Lee before it's too late.
