About the author:
Amanda is the founder of Grounded Wellness Services, PLLC. She provides counseling, wellness coaching, yoga instruction, and wellness seminars. She received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from NC State University. She completed her Masters in Social Work at University of NC at Chapel Hill in 2000. She has worked in a variety of community health and inpatient settings. In 2002, Amanda obtained her full license in Clinical Social Work and in 2012 obtained her License as a Clinical Addiction Specialist. She is currently also a Certified Clinical Supervisor with the NC Substance Abuse Practice Board. In regards to training and education in Yoga, in 2005 Amanda completed a 330 hour Yoga Teacher Training at Triad Yoga Institute in Greensboro, NC. In 2012 she began her training toward becoming a yoga therapist.

This piece of writing serves as an extended letter to my clients as well as a general guide toward managing stress and anxiety. It is a compilation of information that I routinely discuss in sessions. It is also an answer for the clients that ask me for more information on what I review with them particularly in regards to the brain and how the brain reacts to stress. I wanted to have something to offer individuals to help tie the work we do together in a more complete way while having something concrete that they can take with them after our work together has ended.
