About the author:

Linda Spalla graduated magna cum laude from Jacksonville State University. After marrying her high school sweetheart, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia, and taught English.

In 1975, she lost her marriage, her job, and her home. Spalla found a job with the CBS affiliate in Huntsville, Alabama. She worked her way up from a secretary making ninety-eight dollars a week to the president and general manager of the television station. She was the first female general manager in the broadcast group and one of the first female managers ever in the South. Spalla retired in 2000.

Spalla has published two previous books, Leading Ladies and Catch Your Breath. She spends much of the year in Alabama, where she reads, plays golf, performs community service, and dotes on her four grandchildren. She spends her summers in Paris!
