Daddies Shouldn't Breakdance
As the head writer for Shadowbox Live, a theater company in Columbus, Ohio, Jimmy Mak often mines his life for comedic material. Now, for the first time, he’s compiled his thoughts on those silly, serious, and sappy moments in one place.
Daddies Shouldn’t Break-Dance takes readers on a highly entertaining tour of the high points in Mak’s life: his first day on the planet (what kind of monster would give birth to a child two days before Christmas?), his exploits as a secret young superhero, his experiences as a father raising charming but rambunctious daughters, and more.
Mak packs in the laughs, but also makes room for solemn and poignant observations about the state of the world and the difficult times his own family has experienced.
Mak’s daughters, Riley and Roz, not only star in some of his stellar stories and sweet poems but also in their own section dedicated to their observations about life.
Daddies Shouldn’t Break-Dance is perfect for the break-dancing fathers of the world who follow their dreams, even when those dreams are embarrassing and based on an obsessive knowledge of eighties dance movies!
