About the author:
K. Sherrerd Lowry, Ph.D., received a doctorate degree in Mathematics Education in 2006. Classroom teaching, a stint editing mathematics textbooks for a major publisher, and a love of story-combined with an abiding interest in the graphic arts-have resulted in the children's math storybooks LC4A and the Big Test and Surprises for Zu-Zu: A Rhyming Counting Book. Both are available as ebooks from Kindle.
LC4A is aimed at students who experience difficulties in solving word problems. It is also available in a paperback version as an omnibus coloring book/workbook/storybook, with expanded problem sets and a Parents' Guide, from CreateSpace and from Amazon. (The title of that version is: LC4A and the Big Test: A Math-Story Planet Workbook.)
Other books by the author include both ebook and paper editions of Grey Fairy/White Wolf: Three Classic Lang Tales Retold (both with illustrations by the author), and an ebook about communicating online: FORUM FINESSE: A Guide to Impact and Influence in Online Talk.
A coloring book for adults, Wise Words from Shakespeare, is the first in the series that includes the present volume. The series offers inspiring quotations illustrated by pictures that go beyond the traditional children's coloring book staples (black lines outlining white spaces) to offer gray lines and modeling. The result is a work of both substance and pictorial richness that any colorist will be pleased to complete.

Wise Words from LEFT-HANDERS
A Coloring Book for Adults
K. Sherrerd Lowry
K. Sherrerd Lowry
Coloring as a relaxing pastime for adults has proven benefits. Beneficial, too, is the advice and wisdom of famous left-handed contributors to the arts, sciences, entertainment, and public life. This book offers both.
The ready-to-color pictures are derived from a variety of paintings, drawings, folk-art, and photos. These elements have been combined and translated into pages to color that go beyond the usual children's coloring book staples of black lines around white spaces; these pages offer modeling and dimension, not mere flat two-dimensionality. Here the novice and expert colorist alike will find refreshing, renewing pleasure in putting color on paper. Stilling the mind in this way reduces stress.
The prudent advice of the distinguished left-handed luminaries who are celebrated in this volume is rendered on pages that are just as attractive to color as are the pictures that illustrate that advice. Represented are athletes and statesmen, movie stars, writers, business moguls, and geniuses of all walks of life--all left-handed.
Find in this book the wisdom of: Albert Einstein; Judy Garland; Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; Queen Victoria; President Harry S. Truman; Bill Russell; Lewis Carroll; Marie Curie; Henry Ford; Ruth Bader Ginsburg; Jimi Hendrix; Eudora Welty; James Baldwin; Marilyn Monroe; Babe Ruth; Helen Keller; Cary Grant; Mohandas Gandhi; Benjamin Franklin; Oprah Winfrey; and Charlie Chaplin.
Left and right-handed colorists can all enjoy this book. But it does offer something special: the pages to be colored appear on the LEFT side. Let the sage counsel of these wise left-handers, and the creativity and mindfulness of coloring, enrich your moments and your day.
